Brazilian Rosewood (Tamarindo)
Brazilian Rosewood, also known as Tamarindo, is very similar to Brazilian Cherry. It offers a very similar hardness rating of 3000 and provides a nice range of browns and red tones. Due to the tight grain and smooth surface of Brazilian Rosewood, it tends to show scratches more easily than more open grained products such as Oak. The advantage that Brazilian Rosewood has over Brazilian Cherry is that it is less photosensitive and will retain more of its initial color. It is also more uniform and lighter in color.
